Cute Bears Decoupage Card #3

Items required to make this card:

  1. A6 white card blank
  2. Die-Cut Decoupage Sheet – Cute Bears
  3. Plain white paper insert for A6 card
  4. Satin 5mm Ribbon – Light Blue
  5. Woodware Mini Round Brads – Pastel
  6. Happy Birthday Peel Off Sheet – Diamond Blue
  7. Sticky foam pads
  8. Double sided sticky tape
  9. Craft knife, pencil, ruler & cutting mat

How to make this card:

On the inside of the front of the card blank using a ruler and pencil make a mark about 5mm in from the centre fold and exact centre from the top and bottom of the card blank. Then make marks at regular 2.25cm intervals from either side of this mark until you end up with 7 marks in total. Carefully make a small hole through all of the seven marks using your craft knife.

Now make marks and holes about 5mm up from the bottom edge of the front of the card blank in the same way finding the centre first and working out from there at 2.25cm intervals until you have 5 holes along the bottom including the very left hand hole which you made earlier as one of the seven vertical holes.

Cut two strips from the light blue satin ribbon 20cm and 14cm in length. Fold the end of the shorter length over and push a mini pastel round brad through both layers of the ribbon about 5mm in from the end, then push the same brad through the longer ribbon length about 2cm from the end and then finally push the same brad through the very bottom left hand hole on the card blank. Fold the end of the vertical ribbon length over the bottom of the card blank and secure it over the back of the brad.

Keeping the ribbon relatively tight but not stretching it, attach both the vertical and horizontal ribbon lengths to the card with more mini round pastel brads through the holes you made so you end up with the ribbon attached as shown in the finished picture. Fold the ends of the ribbon over the top and right hand side of the card and secure over the backs of the very top and right hand brads. If you haven’t already done so, bend back the prongs of all the brads.

Fold a plain white paper insert and use double sided sticky tape to attach it to the inside of the card blank. Securing all four edges on the left hand side will ensure the insert covers all of the unsightly backs of the brads and ribbon ends.

Push all of the image ‘C’ sections out of the decoupage sheet and using sticky foam pads layer them in the correct order onto the card blank leaving a gap at the bottom of the card for the peel off sentiment.

Remove one of the Happy Birthday wording sets of stickers from the diamond blue happy birthday peel off backing sheet and stick the words above the horizontal bradded ribbon strip using a ruler if necessary to ensure the words are straight.

Lastly remove a flower from the same peel off sheet and stick it to the top left hand area of the card.

Cute Bears Decoupage Card #2

What you will need to make this card:

  1. A6 white card blank
  2. Die-Cut Decoupage Sheet – Cute Bears
  3. Plain white paper insert for A6 card
  4. Organza 7mm Ribbon – Bright Pink
  5. Woodware Mini Round Brads – Pastel
  6. Happy Birthday Peel Off Sheet – Diamond Pink
  7. Sticky foam pads
  8. Double sided sticky tape
  9. Craft knife, pencil, ruler & cutting mat

How to make the card:

On the inside of the front of the card blank using a ruler and pencil make a mark about 5mm in from the centre fold and exact centre from the top and bottom of the card blank. Then make marks at regular 2.25cm intervals from either side of this mark until you end up with 3 marks either side of the centre mark. Leaving the centre mark, carefully make a small hole through all of the other six marks using your craft knife.

Cut a 20cm length of the pink organza ribbon and keeping the ribbon relatively tight but not stretching it, attach it to the card with mini round pink and lilac brads through the six holes as shown in the finished picture. Fold the ends of the ribbon over the top and bottom of the card and secure over the backs of the top and bottom brads. Bend back the prongs of all the brads.

To finish the decorative bradded ribbon strip, cut a second 20cm length of the pink organza ribbon and tie this in a bow around the centre of the ribbon strip. Once you have tied it, trim the ends if required.

Fold a plain white paper insert and use double sided sticky tape to attach it to the inside of the card blank, this then covers the unsightly backs of the brads.

Push all of the image ‘B’ sections out of the decoupage sheet and using sticky foam pads layer them in the correct order onto the card blank leaving a gap at the bottom of the card for the peel off sentiment.

Remove one of the Happy Birthday wording sets of stickers from the diamond pink happy birthday peel off backing sheet and stick the words to the bottom of the card blank using a ruler to ensure the words are straight.

Lastly remove a flower from the same peel off sheet and stick it to the top right hand corner of the card.
