Daisy Trio Decoupage Card

This is a lovely 3D decoupage card which has a clean and simple design but also looks rather elegant. Who else deserves the personal touch that only a handmade card gives other than your Mum on Mother’s day. The completed card is pictured directly below and an image of the actual decoupage sheet that the three daisies came from is pictured further down.

Daisy Trio Mother’s Day Decoupage Card

Items required to make this card:

  1. A6 white card blank
  2. Some purple card
  3. Woodware Super Craft Punch – Square
  4. Tulip / Daffodil / Daisy Trios Decoupage Sheet – for the daisy trio (sheet pictured below)
  5. Woodware Mini Round Brads – Pastel
  6. Father’s/Mother’s Day/Brother/Sister Peel Off Sheet – Gold
  7. Sticky foam pads
  8. Decoupage scissors

Tulip / Daffodil / Daisy Trios Decoupage Sheet

How to make:

Cut out 3 squares from the purple card using the super square craft punch.

Using the decoupage scissors (and craft knife for any tiny inner sections) carefully cut out the three daisy flowers from the decoupage sheet and using sticky foam pads mount each daisy to the centre of one of the purple card squares. As each daisy has three layers which look quite similar, you might find it easier to cut and mount one flower fully before moving onto cutting out the next one.

Take the white card blank and using it landscape (tentfold style), mount the three daisy topped purple card squares in a line across it as shown in the picture.

Measure and cut out a strip from the same purple card that measures 1cm high and is as wide as the line of squares (the width of the strip will depend on how close you mount the squares to each other).

Using the tip of your craft knife carefully make 5 small holes along the card strip. Start with a hole in the centre and then evenly space two holes either side of the centre hole. Push a round lilac brad through each hole and bend it’s prongs back behind the card strip.

Use sticky foam pads to stick this bradded card strip to the bottom of the card blank, lined up with the three card squares above.

To finish the card off apply the sentiment. From the gold Father’s/Mother’s Day/Brother/Sister peel off sheet remove the words ‘Happy’, ‘Mother’s’ and ‘Day’. Stick these words in the gap between the three daisy squares and the brad decorated card strip as shown in the picture.

Lilac & White Flower Card

This is a simple but very effective card that is suitable for any female relation or special friend. This is quite a versatile card as it can easily be made for different occasions other than for a birthday by simply changing the peel off wording that is used. Examples are ‘Thank you’, ‘Happy Mother’s Day’, ‘Get Well Soon’, ‘Thinking Of You’ and more.

Lilac & White Flower Card

Materials used to make this card:

  1. 1 x A6 lilac card blank
  2. 1 x Flower Topper – Purple & White
  3. Handmade Mulberry Paper – White
  4. Lilac card similar in colour to or a co-ordinating shade with the card blank
  5. Happy Birthday Peel Off Sheet – Multicoloured
  6. Double sided sticky tape & sticky foam pads
  7. Craft knife, pencil, ruler & cutting mat

How to make:

Measure and cut out a rectangle from the white handmade mulberry paper that measures 7cm wide x 7.5cm high. Apply a strip of double sided sticky tape to each edge of the back of this rectangle and then stick it to the top centre of the card blank approximately 1.5cm down from the top edge of the card.

Apply a strip of double sided sticky tape to each edge of the back of the card topper and then stick this to the centre of the white mulberry paper rectangle.

Measure and cut out another rectangle from the white handmade mulberry paper this time that measures 7cm wide x 3cm high. Using double sided sticky tape stick this rectangle to the bottom section of the card blank.

Next cut a rectangle from the lilac card that measures 6cm wide x 2cm high. Remove a ‘Happy Birthday’ wording from the peel off sheet. Let the sticker relax for a minute on the end of your craft knife, to allow it to regain shape if it has stretched at all and then apply it to the centre of the lilac card rectangle.

To finish the card off use sticky foam pads to stick the lilac rectangle ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment to the centre of the bottom white mulberry rectangle.

Tip: If you do not have a lilac card blank you can use a white one and either completely cover it with lilac paper or you can mostly cover it with lilac paper but leave a small white border round the edge as this would fit in with the colour scheme of the card.
