Glittery Snowmen Card

This easy to make card looks much better in real life than in the photo as it is impossible to capture the full effect of the brilliant glittery effect of the stickles glitter glue and the pearl glitter peel off stickers.

What you will need to make this card:

  1. Plain white 7″x5″ card blank
  2. Dark Blue mulberry tissue paper
  3. Trees & Snowman Peel Off Sheet – Pearl Glitter blue OR Pearl glitter silver
  4. Waterfall Stardust Glitter Glue or Stardust Stickles Glitter Glue
  5. Christmas Greetings Banners – Silver/Gold on White
  6. Double sided sticky tape
  7. Craft Glue

How to make this card:

Cut a piece of dark blue mulberry tissue paper the exact size of the card blank and use double sided sticky tape on all four edges to stick it to the front of the card blank.

Position four Christmas trees and two snowmen from the pearl glitter peel off sheet as shown in the picture.

Use the glitter glue to draw thick lines on the card so it looks like a landscape with the trees and snowmen standing on top. Waterfall Stickles works well with the pearl glitter blue peel offs or Stardust Stickles goes well with the pearl glitter silver peel offs.

Use glue to stick a greetings banner, white with silver foil writing, wording of your choice, onto the top left hand side of the card blank.

Finish off with some peel off stars from the pearl glitter peel off sheet in the sky of the scene.

Craft Punches & Fused Glass

Now this is an unusual way of using craft punches but what wonderful results. We were so impressed with these amazing hand-made fused glass pieces that we wanted to share them with our card making/craft ideas readers.

All of the pieces pictured here are the beautiful work of Karen Davies the owner of Hearts of Glass, Barnet, Hertfordshire. Website: http://www.heartsofglass.co.uk

The process of fusing glass is very time consuming with one firing taking eight to ten hours.

For these particular pieces Copper foil shapes have been punched out using lever craft punches. The glass is cut and laid in two layers with the copper foil shapes between those two layers. The fusing process takes place when the glass is heated in the kiln. The glass softens and then becomes fluid. This is when fusing takes place.

Bowls and other three dimensional shapes such as the candle arches then require a second firing where the glass forms into or over a mould.
