This gorgeous 3D decoupage red sports car makes an ideal Birthday card for any car enthusiast. Why not make the card for another relation by simply changing the Dad peel off to suit or make the design for Father’s Day by changing the Happy Birthday peel off to Happy Father’s Day.
Pictured immediately below is an image of the completed card, further down there is a picture taken at an angle to show the decoupage layers.
Items used to make this card:
- 7″x5″ White Card Blank
- Rioja Red pearlised card
- Die-Cut Decoupage Sheet – Cars
- Happy Birthday Peel Off Sheet – Red
- Family Mix 1 Peel Off Sheet – Silver for the words ‘To a Dear’
- Family Mix 2 Peel Off Sheet – Silver for the word ‘Dad’
- Sticky foam pads
- Craft knife, pencil, ruler & cutting mat
How to make:
Measure and cut out a 15.5cm x 10.5cm rectangle from the rioja red pearlised card then measure and cut out a 14cm x 9cm rectangle out of the centre of that rectangle. This leaves you with a 7-8mm card frame.
Use 5mm sticky foam pads to stick the frame centrally onto the front of the card blank. Turn the card blank to landscape / tent fold orientation.
Push all of the image ‘B’ red sports car sections out of the decoupage sheet and using more sticky foam pads layer them in the correct order inside the centre of the rectangle card frame.
Remove a ‘Happy Birthday’ wording sticker from the red happy birthday peel off sheet and stick this inside the card frame to the top right hand side, above the car.
Remove ‘To a Dear’ wording stickers from the silver family mix 1 peel off sheet and the word ‘Dad’ from the silver family mix 2 peel off sheet and stick these words inside the card frame to the bottom left hand side, below the car.
It is a good idea to use a ruler or a straight edge to place all of the peel off wording stickers to help ensure the words are applied straight.
