It’s sometimes hard to come up with good ideas for cards for men but theme your card on a hobby and you have a solution. This card is ideal for DIY enthusiasts. By simply changing the peel off wording stickers it can be used for any male relation and also other occasions such as Father’s Day.
What you will need to make this card:
- Slimline (A5 tall) scarlet red card blank
- Woodware Super Duper Lever Craft Punch – Square
- Pearlised card or plain card in silver, red and black
- Red & Silver DIY Toolbox Card Embellishment
- Mens Designs Peel Off Sheet – Silver
- Family Mix 1 Peel Off Sheet – Silver (for the words ‘To’ ‘a’ and ‘Great’)
- Family Mix 2 Peel Off Sheet – Silver (for the word ‘Dad’)
- Happy Birthday Peel Off Sheet – Red
- Shimmering Silver Memories Metallic Marker Pen
- 5mm sticky foam pads & 6mm double sided sticky tape
- Craft knife, pencil, ruler & cutting mat
- Decoupage/precision scissors
Directions to make:
Measure and cut out 4 rectangles from the black card. Size the first 4.5cm x 2cm and apply a red ‘Happy Birthday’ peel off sticker to it. The next two should be sized 3cm x 1.5 cm and then apply silver ‘To a’ peel off stickers to one and a silver ‘Dad’ peel off sticker to the other. Finally the last one is sized 3.75cm x 1.5cm and a silver ‘Great’ peel off sticker should be applied to it.
Remove the four tool pictures (hammer, saw, axe and spanner) from the silver Mens Designs Peel Off Sheet. Stick the hammer and axe to black card and the spanner and saw to red card. Carefully cut out each of the four tools.
Punch out a square from the silver card using the super duper square craft punch. Use sticky foam pads to mount the DIY toolbox embellishment to the front of the silver square.
Use double sided sticky tape to mount the DIY toolbox topped silver square onto the card blank and sticky foam pads to attach all of the wording rectangles and cut out tools, all arranged as shown in the picture.
Finish the card off by simply tracing over the DIY embossed wording on the toolbox with the silver metallic pen and allow to dry.
