Card toppers make card making really easy and with the topper on it’s own you can make lovely cards but with a few simple additions you can make a really stylish card that looks great but doesn’t take up too much time when you need a card quickly.
What you need to make this card:
- White A6 card blank
- Rose With Silver LOVE Topper (Large)
- Velvet 10mm Ribbon – Red
- Mini 8mm Puffy Material Hearts – Silver
- ‘Be My Valentine!’ Die-cut Banner
- Red Stickles Glitter Glue
- Plain White Card Insert OR Valentine’s Day Printed Card Insert
- Hi-Tack Original All Purpose Very Sticky Glue
- 6mm Double sided sticky tape
Directions:
Cut a length of the red velvet ribbon about 2-3cm longer than the height of the card blank. Apply a strip of 6mm double sided sticky tape along the whole length of the ribbon and then stick the ribbon to the left hand side of the card blank leaving a small white border on the the left hand side of the card and sticking the ends over the top and bottom of the inside of the card.
Apply more double sided sticky tape to all four edges of the rose card topper and stick this to the top of the card blank to the right of the ribbon.
Use the very sticky craft glue to stick several mini silver padded material hearts to the velvet red ribbon border ensuring that they are evenly spaced.
Use more craft glue to stick the ‘Be My Valentine!’ banner to the bottom of the card on the right of the ribbon border at an angle as shown in the picture.
Glue two more mini silver padded material hearts to the card above the left hand side of the banner and two more below the bottom right hand side of the banner.
Use the red stickles glitter glue to fill in a heart shape in the centre of the bottom red heart on the card topper and leave card flat for the glitter glue to dry.
Finally, once the glitter glue is fully dry, open the card up, fold the paper insert you are going to use into half and use double sided sticky tape to attach it to the inside of the card blank. This then covers over the ends of the red velvet ribbon that you stuck earlier.
