Christmas Glitter Brads Card

The Christmas tree and snowflake shaped glitter brads used in this Christmas card project give the card a real luxurious look and feel. The brads are painted with gorgeous glittery paint, the surface of which is almost soft to the touch, that and the different sized layers of card used makes this a very tactile card.

Christmas Glitter Brads Card

Items you will need to make this card:

  1. Small Square (120mm x 120mm) Pale Cream Card Blank
  2. Pearlised card in green, red, silver and ivory (or cream)
  3. Woodware Super Lever Craft Punch – Square
  4. Woodware Large Lever Craft Punch – Square
  5. Woodware Glitter Brads – Christmas
  6. Season’s Greetings Peel Off Sheet – Gold
  7. 5mm sticky foam pads
  8. Craft knife, pencil, ruler & cutting mat

Directions:

Take the super square craft punch and punch one square of each colour of the pearlised card (green, red, silver and ivory). Put these squares to one side for now.

Next repeat the above step but using the large square craft punch to punch a square of each colour of the pearlised card. On the reverse of each of these squares draw a pencil line diagonally from the tip of one top corner to the tip of the opposite bottom corner and repeat from the other top corner to it’s opposite bottom corner. Where the two lines cross in the middle marks the exact centre of each square. Place the squares onto your craft cutting mat, using the tip of the blade of your craft knife make a small hole just ABOVE centre on the red and green card squares and dead on the centre of the ivory and the silver card squares.

Next push a silver snowflake glitter brad through the hole on the ivory card, a green Christmas tree glitter brad through the hole on the red card, a cream snowflake glitter brad through the hole on the silver card and finally a red Christmas tree glitter brad through the hole on the green card. Align the brads and bend the prongs back pointing into the corners of the squares so the ends do not show when the squares are turned right way up. You also need to make sure that the Christmas trees are straight when you look at them from the front.

Then use sticky foam tape/pads to mount the ivory square with the silver snowflake onto the super red square, the red square with the green Christmas tree onto the super silver square, the silver square with the cream snowflake onto the super green square and finally the green square with the red Christmas tree onto the super ivory square.

Again using sticky foam tape/pads mount the finished squares onto the card blank as shown in the picture lining them up as straight as you can and leaving a slightly larger gap at the bottom of the card for a sentiment.

To finish the card off, remove a ‘Season’s Greetings’ from the peel off sheet and allow the sticker to relax on the end of your craft knife blade for a short while, this will allow it to go back into shape if it has stretched at all. Then simply place it on the card blank underneath the four squares using a ruler to make sure it is straight if necessary. Once you are happy with the position of the wording press down on it firmly to stick it in place.

Burgundy Heart & Rosebud Wedding InvitationIvory Heart & Rosebud Wedding Invitation

To make these cards you will need:

  1. Woodware super scalloped square craft punch
  2. Sticky foam pads
  3. Hi-Tack original all purpose very sticky glue
  4. Wedding invitation peel off stickers in either gold or silver
  5. Plain inserts for A6 cards in either cream or white (optional)
  6. A6 cream or A6 white card blanks
  7. Pearlised cream / ivory / white card
  8. 2 cm padded material hearts
  9. Ribbon rosebuds
  10. Ribbon bows

Directions:

Take the Woodware super scalloped square punch and punch two card squares for each invitation you need to make (use cream card for the burgundy/cream design or white card for the ivory/white design). Attach two scalloped squares with sticky foam pads to the front of each card blank, positioning them as shown in the pictures.

Use the Hi-Tack original all purpose very sticky glue to stick the material heart to the centre of the top square and the ribbon rosebud and ribbon bow to the bottom square. The glue you use here does need to be a very sticky craft glue to ensure the embellishments are secure.

Finally apply a ‘Wedding Invitation’ peel off wording sticker. You can replace the peel off sticker wording with a wedding invitation wording banner instead.

To finish the card off you can print your own wording for the inside of the card onto plain inserts for A6 cards now available in either white or cream and then once folded insert them into the card blank using a strip of double sided sticky tape or a small amount of glue along the fold line of the insert. Tip – Once your wording is ready to print do some test prints first to make sure you have lined everything up correctly.

Make all matching Wedding Stationery, simply by replacing the Wedding Invitation wording with Evening Invitation, Order of Service, Menu, Thank You etc.
