Daffodil Easter Card

Bright and cheerful Easter card that is easy to make.

What you will need to make this card:

1. A6 Cream oval aperture card blank
2. Green mirror card
3. Die-Cut Decoupage Sheet – Floral #116 (Daffodil Decoupage)
4. Two Tone Butterflies Peel Off Sheet – Gold
5. Easter Bunnies & Easter Baskets Peel Off Sheets Gold
6. Alphabet – Block Capitals Peel Off Sheet – Diamond Green
7. Peel Off Marker Pens or Metallic Marker Pens
8. Sticky Foam Pads & Double Sided Sticky Tape
9. Scissors

How to make this card.

Cut a section of the green mirror card just slightly smaller than A6 in size and using double sided sticky tape stick it behind the aperture on the card blank.

Spell out the wording HAPPY EASTER in an arch over the top of the aperture using letters from the diamond green alphabet peel off sheet.

Use sticky foam pads to stick the daffodil decoupage to the bottom right hand side of the aperture overlapping the aperture as shown in the picture.

Use peel off markers or metallic markers to colour the peel off stickers in bright colours. It is easier to colour a peel off when it is still on it’s backing sheet and then once it is dry peel it off and stick it. The peel off stickers used here are 1 bunny rabbit in grass, 2 mini easter eggs, 4 mini flowers & 3 of the two tone butterflies.

Stick the coloured bunny rabbit in grass, 4 mini flowers and 2 mini easter eggs along the bottom of the card blank as shown in the picture.

To make the 3D butterfly shape, you need the 3 two tone butterfly stickers that you coloured in earlier. Folding two of the stickers in half you stick one half of each of them back to back to the third butterfly. You then stick the two sticky halves that are folded back to the top left of the mirror green aperture. If you then fold the butterfly wings up, the butterfly pops up in a 3D type style.

Monochrome Daisies Card

This is a fantastically effective card done in monochrome colours of Black, White & Silver. This card uses a lot of different sized daisy and flower punches but the effect is amazing, well worth it and remember you can re-create this card in many different colour combinations or card sizes!

What you will need to make this card:

  1. Card & Paper – A4 plain white card, A4 plain black  card + various papers/light card (pearl, shiny, holographic in black, white & silver).
  2. Super Duper Daisy Punch & Super Duper Flower Punch
  3. Super Daisy Punch & Super Flower Punch
  4. Large Daisy Punch & Large Flower Punch
  5. Regular Daisy Punch & Regular Flower Punch
  6. Mini & 6mm round brads, silver, black & white
  7. Straight borders peel off sheet silver
  8. Vertical Happy Birthday peel off sheet silver
  9. Mixed Greetings peel off sheet silver (for With Love peel off wording)
  10. Craft Glue or Sticky Foam Pads and Double sided sticky tape
  11. Ruler, Craft Knife, Bone Folder Tool, Craft Cutting Mat

How to make:

Take the A4 plain white card, the ruler and the bone folder tool. With the card in front of you horizontally on your craft mat, make a vertical fold line down each side 7.25cm in from the edge. fold these edges over to make your A5 gatefold card blank.

Next take the A4 sheet of black card cut a 4 cm strip from one of the shorter edges. Fold the large remaining piece of black card around the gatefold card blank you made earlier to make an outer jacket that is 2cm shorter on each side. Use double sided sticky tape to stick the back of the black card blank to the back of the white card blank, leaving the front black flaps to swing free as shown  in the picture.

Cut two rectangles out of the plain white paper. These white rectangles should be sized to fit on the front of the black card flaps leaving a 0.5cm to 0.75cm border of black all the way round. Use more double sided sticky tape to stick the white rectangles into the centre of each black flap.

Use the straight silver peel off sticker borders to stick round all the edges of the white paper rectangles.

Punch out some flowers and daisies out of the black, white & silver paper/light card using all the different punch sizes.

Make a tiny hole in the centre of each flower. At this stage you can fold the punched flowers and daisies down the centre of each petal and then open up for a more raised 3D effect like the flowers shown in the picture, alternatively you can leave the flowers flat.

Layer the flowers and daisies together using different contrasting colours on each layer, experiment until you get the best effect flowers that you are happy with. Make 4 or 5 flowers of varying sizes, Once you are happy with a layered flower, push a round brad through the centre of the flower and bend back the prongs to secure the flower layers together. Use a mini brad for smaller flowers and a 6mm brad for larger flowers.

Mount the flowers onto the card blank using glue or sticky foam pads in a similar pattern to shown in the picture. You can even stick some flowers on the inside of the card or behind the black flaps on the white flaps.

Finish your card off by sticking a vertical Happy Birthday peel off sticker down the edge of the inner white card blank and stick a With Love peel off sticker onto the bottom right of the outside of the card blank.
